Sun with Moon - Wheelock Place

early & light dinner last night...
was waiting for sa for two hours in Borders (where i stalked a girl wearing collier de chien belt *drool* and read the super potato book cover to cover) and got hungry but not really...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Red Breeze (watermelon and mint) and Vitamin Tea (tasted like acerola)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Sa had Salmon Sashimi

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Me had Chirashi Kodon
tiny, but everything was real fresh and the prawn was notably sweet...

Mr. Curry - The Central, Clarke Quay

Mr. Curry was a chef from Curry Land.

Together with Mango-nyan,
they traveled the world in search of curry dishes.
They stumbled upon the finest curry in Japan.

With the passion of sharing,
they wanted the whole world to experience the wonderful "Japanese Curry"
And so they decided to bring you "Mr. Curry"

They hope that all will enjoy the experience
and that these lovely curry flavours will bring satisfaction
and cheerful smiles to their guests.

Please enjoy the wonderful journey of "MR. CURRY"

mango salad dressing
this is bordering disgusting... haha... and that cat is "mango-nyan" ... the ...er mascot...

Calpis Water and Cold Green Tea (free-flow)

the curry - extra spicy & creamy
there's choice of non-spicy, spicy or extra spicy and original, white/creamy, red/fresh or black/rich!
instead of the usual apple and honey, here they used mangoes in the gravy and other secret ingredients, of course!

onion consomme??
i think it should have tasted okay if it was hot enough, instead it was room temperature... ew..

Spicy Cod Roe Omelette Curry
omelette is fluffly and sweet... but they really couldnt be any stingier with the roe... its like a garnish...

Minced Beef Curry Spaghetti
spaghetti - al dente, curry - yum, soft boiled egg - cherry on top.... all together, not sure it works... lol i liked it enough to finish it though...

Tomo Izakaya - Clarke Quay

cranberry lemonade, mango calpis soda, cranberry juice

gindara teriyaki
the oiliness of the cod and the sweetness of the teriyaki was just all a bit too much...

kimchee ramen
not bad... though ramen is a lil too soft (then again i like my noodles to be chewy and with bite).. kimchee somehow taste a lil different to the normal korean ones, but i cant really put a finger on it...

Stewed pork belly with cabbage in miso
i like this dish the most... pork belly was not too fatty and cabbage adds crunch...

vegetable tempura
boring boring... i never like tempura in the first place... i think its the ginger...

chicken ball

Spider roll
soft shell crab... mm.. full flavored... dont even try dipping it with soy sauce...

will go back with someone who drinks... :P
before nine they play cheesy j-pop... after nine, its live jazz...
tables were huge, mostly for 8... so if you'd most likely have to share a table with strangers...

Shokudo - Cathay Cineleisure

seafood pasta - cream and tomato sauce
loaded with various seafood.. i didnt get to taste though... diaz slurped it up within seconds with no complaints... so must be okay...

scallop pizza
if you must know, its either no.1 or 2 on the pizza list
it tasted really nice... but we thought it was tinyyyy and the fact that its crisp thin did not help (although someone barked the "what do you expect for that price" thing... haha)
oh... and this takes forever to come... we actually finished our dessert before this even made it to the table...

Azuki Zenzai with Matcha Ice Cream
it has a layer of azuki embedded inside the shaved ice... not much, but its there...

Matcha Azuki Kakigori w/ Matcha Ice Cream
i was speechless when the waitress bring this thing to the table... its huge.. i mean its HUGEE... like it doubles the height of the ice water glass... the additional ice cream was definitely ill-advised... its nice though... me and sa somehow managed to level it... oh.. this one has a hidden layer of azuki too... yum

i'll come back next time i'm in cine just cause the menu is cute...
plus for the school kid prices, the taste is pretty good
they also have the "marche" type of shokudo in Raffles City (which i've been but did not take pics.. haha)

Wagaya - Haymarket, NSW

japanese restaurant with touch-screen order system is probably not something new... but this is probably the only place that has successfully implement the system and no need for screaming and waving trying to get the waiter's attention... and any gimmick means i'm there to try it out! :P

july and april
birthday themed mocktails

february

fried whitebait
instead of the salt and pepper version you get in dim sum places, this has a tangy-sweet-chili sauce... must say i've been hogging this whole dish to myself...

shisamo
"pregnant fish" gahahhaha... salt and pepper-ed! somehow is much bigger than ones from anywhere else in sydney

grilled scallop
too springy... clearly overcooked... maybe the hot plate with scallop is a bad idea..

wafu pizza
interesting... this has pretty nice flavor through it.. although i still think the "wafu" was flavorless

scallop fried rice
yummy with dash of pepper but not overpowering

tantanmen
one sniff and i almost choked... the whole dish was "contaminated" by the bamboo shoot... yes i have a deep hatred towards bamboo shoots

grilled chikuwa
me love chikuwa... 'nuff said

*incase you get bored halfway, theres a game! you get this disgruntled sushi chef making sushi roulette and you have to pick....
.. if you're lucky...

:P

and if you're really up for it, you can also order a real-life sushi roulette... its in the menu!
be sure to have a reservation (even for weekdays) !!
