Chat Thai - Haymarket, NSW

then dinner...

prawns and water spinach in curry and tamarind broth with omelets
this taste really interesting... they sunk the omelets in that it soaks up the broth... and we cant stop scooping up the broth...

water spinach with chili and oyster sauce
i'm a bit iffy with ordering things that uses oyster sauce as its my mums secret weapon (she adds it to every dish... *shivers)... but they made oyster sauce taste good... its probably the chili... if you're wondering... yes that's kangkung!

Pad Grapao - Minced Chicken and long beans with basil and chili
Must. Order. Every. Single. Time. It is that good okay...

Ratings: 7/10

good... but i've tasted better... now defunct Renn Thai in Singapore and Dusit Thai in Perth... and of course random restaurants in thailand..

Hmmm... liat kangkung... jadi inget kangkung hotplate di Hayam Wuruk. Kayaknya terkenalnya tuh Sandjaja, yg di pelataran parkir diubah jadi tempat makan. Trus ada kwotie juga. Sekarang sih udah digusur. Pernah makan di situ gak Cla waktu kita pada kecil? hihihi..kayaknya seru juga ya kalo nulis soal our favorite spots when we're little...

Kangkong is actually very poor thing, leh. In Indonesia, people say Kangkong is bad for you because it makes you sleepy. In Chinese-speaking countries, people tend not to eat Kangkong because it's hollow inside the stems - thus making it 'unsubstantial' and unfit for nourishing bodies...
